Rank 1 receives a Cloud Security Provider certificate

Sophos has handed the certiciation to Rank1

Sophos' Cloud Security Provider (CSP) program allows partners to develop, implement and manage Sophos security solutions for the public cloud.

"We are delighted with this CSP certification by Sophos," said Raf De Backer, Director Professional Services at Rank 1. "At the moment a lot of Belgian companies are considering a possible move to the cloud. In particular, SMEs are struggling with the question of whether they would still keep certain services partially on-premises or transfer everything entirely to the cloud. Many of these SMEs are looking for a reliable, flexible IT partner who can assist them with advice and the implementation of such a process. Rank 1 is one such party that carries out this process in a structured way for SMEs. Depending on the client's field of application, we advise, among other things, on a partial or complete transition to the cloud".

The CSP programme is an addition to Sophos' existing partner programme. It enables Sophos partners to specialise in the field of public cloud security. The CSP programme can provide a competitive advantage.

Sophos' Public Cloud portfolio for the AWS and/or Azure environment includes Sophos' next-gen security products UTM (Unified Threat Management), XG (firewalls) and Intercept X for Server (server protection).

" With our help, our customers' employees can get to work safely at home in no time "

Logistical challenge

"With our help, our customers' employees can get to work safely at home in no time. We provided hardware, cared about security, made networks ready for homework, implemented Microsoft Teams to enable video calling and installed complete Office 365 environments: you name it".

The crisis posed logistical challenges, among other things. "We also worked from home," says Raf De Backer. Hardware for the customer was prepared and distributed via the home addresses of our consultants. The helpdesk operated in shifts from our employees' home offices".

Cybersecurity

These are exceptional times in terms of cyber security. Hackers are trying to capitalise on the crisis. Should there be a second wave, you'd better be prepared, says Raf De Backer. "That's why Rank 1 organises webinars on cyber security and workshops to learn how to recognise phishing attacks.

Leading the way through digitisation

"Anyone who was further ahead in the field of digitisation clearly had a head start', Raf saw. "One of our customers had just switched to the cloud when the corona virus broke out. He was able to reap the immediate benefits. The step to teleworking was taken quickly. In the cloud, your IT processes are no longer location dependent in any way. That makes it easier and safer to manage your business remotely. Installation is simpler. Working via cloud is much more efficient, stable, faster and cost effective than via remote desktop. Our advice: digitise to arm yourself against an uncertain future!
